Structural Issues

Structural issues can be very expensive and scary. A tenant may notice a floor is sagging or sloping more than normal. They may suddenly see cracks in the walls or ceilings. Or perhaps they notice a large crack across a supporting beam in your basement.

Whatever the reason, structural issues must be addressed immediately. The first step is typically getting a structural engineer to come by and take a look at the foundation. A qualified structural engineer can help determine what work, if any, needs to be done to make sure all is good.

From there, a structural engineer could simply ask you to install a handful of lally columns in the basement. Or more serious work may be required, in which case they may draw up an entire report on next steps.
