Preparing Your Property for Sale

In this market, I often advise my clients to take some steps to prepare their property for sale. These steps are relatively low-cost, especially when compared to the potential ROI of maximizing your final sales price. The steps that I typically recommend vary based on each client. Some clients aren’t in a place where they want or are able to make updates, and that’s ok. Some clients own a property that is more freshly updated, so no changes are necessary. That being said, if it makes sense for your specific situation, then I often find the following steps can have a big, positive impact on your final selling outcome:

  • Painting the walls with a fresh coat of white paint (if necessary)

  • Removing older window treatments

  • Replacing older light fixtures

  • Installing staging

These are steps that I will coordinate for you, so you don’t have to worry about the details. Additionally, if you want to defer the costs associated with these steps, you have the option of applying to our concierge, pay-at-close program.
